Meet Our Team! Taylor Robin: Journeyman

How long have you worked at Soep? 3 years

What do you feel is unique about working at Soep? I believe the sense of community and family is what is most unique about working at Soep, some of my best friends are the people I work with. Having people you like to work with and you work well with really makes coming to work and doing your job that much more enjoyable.

What is the most memorable project you’ve been involved with at Soep? The most memorable project I’ve been on was actually one of the smaller projects I was on, the Miles Standish Hall at BU with Nikki DeRome. It was there that I really learned a lot about how to do my job, it was where I learned how to spray, how to do prep work, how to cut in walls and how to do some finish work. It’s the job I’ll always remember.

How is your role critical to the strategic vision and success of Soep? My role is critical to the vision and success of Soep because every piece of work I do represents the company. If my work isn't up to par then it can reflect poorly on the entire team and the company. We set the standards high and expect everyone to achieve them.

What is the most satisfying aspect of your job? The most satisfying aspects of my job are constantly being able to set goals to better myself, being given the responsibility to complete a job and do it right, and then consistently learning new things and growing in the work that we do.

Finish the sentence. When I’m not at work, you’ll find me… When I’m not at work you’ll normally find me either at the gym or at home relaxing with my boyfriend and my dog

Which of Soep’s Core Values do you feel is the most critical to the company’s success? I think all of the core values are critical to our success. You have to be reliable and be there for people who count on you to get then job done. You have to be Diligent in the work that has to be done. You have to come to work with a Positive attitude and be a Team Player or else you’re going bring everyone else’s day down too. You have to be a Problem Solver when you are out on the job site or in the office; you need to think creatively to resolve issues and move ahead. And you have to be Highly Trained/Highly Skilled to complete the work to the standard that has been set. You can’t have one Core Value without the other. They all work together.
