Our company's history dates back to 1945 beginning with founder Benjamin Soep. Before entering into the painting business, Ben trained as an artist at Boston's Vesper George School of Art. To complement his art projects, Ben also worked on refinishing fine furniture and finishing woodwork. The increasing demand for his services inspired him to establish a full service commercial painting company. Benjamin's vision was to offer builders and property managers a full service painting, coating and special contractor with an artist's eye for detail and high quality.
In 1959 The Soep Painting Corporation was honored with a contract for restoration of the Louis XV interior of Boston's Colonial Theater. The sculpting of the theater's moldings and the painting of the ceiling murals were tasks that required Ben's artistic and business capabilities. Soep's reputation was formed for unique craftsmanship and for turning vision in reality.
The Soep Companies reputation continues today as New England's most trusted and capable painting, wall covering, coating, waterproofing, restoration and specialty services contractor.
Ben's philosophy's including "There's always a better way to do whatever" still today motivates and drives our 2nd and 3rd generation family leadership, Howard Soep and Matthew Soep.
