Ben Soep, Founder

The Soep Companies was started in 1945 by Benjamin Soep. Ben's goal was to provide his clients a full service painting, coating and specialty services contractor that offered more than the typical painting company. He quickly developed a reputation as the "go to guy" for artistic and multicolor applications as well as furniture refinishing. Ben's charisma as well as a good business sense led to his company developing to over 200 employees and multiple service groups. Ben was valued by his clients as an artist and a designer that also had a successful painting company. Some of Ben's most noteworthy projects include Rowes Wharf, Brandies University, and Landmark train station in Albany N.Y. Ben enjoys art projects and being with his family. He has 2 sons, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Howard Soep, President

Howard became president of Soep Companies in 1985. His focus was on developing the Commercial Painting and Industrial Coating Service groups. Howard is recognized as having performed some of the most complex and demanding coatings projects in Boston's history including Deer Island Waste Water Treatment Facility, Gillette Stadium, Boston Gas/Keyspan storage tank, Boston Engine Terminal and MIT Stata Center. Howard is very active with the Painters and Allied Trades and was instrumental in the inception of the STAR program. Howard enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family. He has 2 children and 6 grandchildren.

Matt Soep, Vice President

Matt is the proud third generation to lead The Soep Companies, a responsibility that he doesn't take lightly. Matt joined the company in 1996 after graduating from Syracuse University's School of Management. Matt is extremely customer focused and works hard to grow the company by developing teams and business systems. Like his father and grandfather, Matt embraces change, challenges the conventional and is always looking to improve how business is done at The Soep Companies. He continually evaluates and works toward bettering systems to ensure project success and exceeding our client's expectations. Matt specializes in safety, lead coating removal and industrial projects. Matt is proud to have worked on projects such as Harvard Medical CTR, Fenway Park and Trilogy project. "I am very focused on having our company look and feel different than other companies. I try to bring excitement and challenges to our teams and our clients appreciate that." Matt enjoys reading, watching WWE and spending time with his family. Matt has 3 sons.
