Meet Our Team! Augie Guarino: Foreman

How long have you worked at SOEP?
I’ve been working at Soep going on 35 years.

What do you feel is unique about working at Soep?
The family oriented-environment, we’re all on the same team from ownership down to our apprentices. We all have each other’s backs thus translating to better quality of service for our customers.

What is the most memorable project you’ve been involved in at Soep?
Being with the company for so many years I’ve been involved with many of the large projects we’ve done in the city. The one that sticks out most is Millennium Place which included over 300 high-end condos, over 200 hotel rooms, 20 movie theaters, along with restaurants and offices.

How is your role critical to the strategic vision and success of Soep?
I’ve been very fortunate to have been involved with Soep for so many years and I feel it’s time for me to give back by assisting in training and developing the next generation of employees. I take pride in knowing that some of the younger workers that I’ve helped along thus far are now starting to have important roles with the company.

What is the most satisfying aspect of your job?
Being involved in large projects, something about looking at a new project surrounded by cranes, trucks, and heavy machinery that gets my blood pumping. Also customer satisfaction, it’s very rewarding that at the end of a project to see the entire project team (architects, designers, owners, etc.) being very pleased with the quality of workmanship and service we were able to provide for them.

Finish the sentence. When I’m not at work, you’ll find me...
Where do I start.... on a beach in Cancun, on a golf course, with my new grandson that I love to spent every minute I can with. I spend a lot of time with my family and of course my dog, Louie.

Which of Soep’s core values do you feel is the most critical to the company’s success?
Can I say all of them?

I feel that we need to be “team players” for us to successfully complete any project small or large and have a strong relationship between the field and the office.

“Positive"… you’ll never find a successful company with negative people, we all need to have that positive attitude to achieve the same goals.

“Highly trained, highly skilled”… to create a strong work force every business needs a strong training program. With strong training comes a highly skilled team, translating to the utmost quality of service for our customers.

“Problem solvers, Diligent, Reliable”… every single core value that we can exercise to its utmost potential is what makes Soep the standout leader in the painting industry.
